Linna library and Silent Reading Room closed 20 October

Linna library will be closed exceptionally on Saturday, 20 October. In Linna building there will be maintenance work of electrical equipment and power cut so the building will be closed the whole day.

Also the Silent Reading Room will be closed on Saturday. It is available again on Sunday, 21 October from 6.00.

On the Main campus there are other premises accessible 24/7 in the front part of the Pinni A building. Also the classrooms 1, 7 and 8 in TietoPinni are accessible 24/7.

Linna’s Silent Reading Room opens after renovation 3 September at 8.00

Welcome to the renewed Silent Reading Room in Linna library next week! Silent Reading Room is available again from Monday, 3 September at 8.00.

During the renovation the Reading Room’s electricity was renewed and the walls were painted. The larger part got a carpet that absorbs sound. The most visible change in the Reading Room is the new furniture that will be completed e.g. with comfortable armchairs in September.

Silent Reading Room on floor 2 in Linna is open to the customers during the Library’s opening hours. It is also available 24/7 for the students of the University of Tampere. When the Library is closed, you can access the staircase through the side door situated opposite the Finnish Student Health Service building using your key card.

Study spaces in the Library

Renovation in Linna’s Silent Reading Room begins 25 June

The renovation in Linna library’s Silent Reading Room will begin on Monday, 25 June. During the renovation its premises will be out of customer use. The renovation is planned to be finished by the beginning of September.

The other working premises in Linna are available according to the summertime opening hours and the Learning Center in Arvo library is available 24/7 for the University students with the key card. In Arvo on weekdays between 21.00 and 5.30 and on weekends also a PIN code is needed. Ask it from Arvo building’s IT Helpdesk (E106).

On the Main campus the classrooms 1, 7 and 8 in TietoPinni are accessible 24/7. In addition, floors 3 and 4 in the front part of the Pinni A building are accessible 24/7 with the student card during the summertime renovations.

Silent Reading Room is a popular study space. Now e.g. its electricity systems and surfaces will be renovated. The larger studying area will get new furnishings and a carpet to improve the functionality and comfort of its premises.

Linna’s Silent Reading Room closed from Midsummer until September

Linna library’s Silent Reading Room will be renovated and its premises will be out of customer use. The renovation begins after Midsummer and is planned to be finished by the beginning of September. After the renovation the reading room will also get new furnishings.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the renovation. The other working premises in Linna are available normally according to the summertime opening hours. The Learning Center in Arvo library is available 24/7 for the University students with the key card.
