WELCOME TO THE CBIR WINTER SCHOOL/FIRST INTENSIVE COURSE IN ST. PETERSBURG IN JANUARY 2019!
The last seasonal school of the 2017 CBIR intake will take place in St. Petersburg 20-26 January 2019. The School of International Relations of the St. Petersburg State University will host the Winter School and it is co-funded by the EDUFI (FIRST Intensive Course funding) and the partner universities. The Winter School consists of lectures and study visits of the course Education Cooperation in the European North (POMCBIR3) and Master’s thesis seminars (POMCBIR5).

The Moodle page for Cross-Border International Relations has been updated in December with the descriptions of the lectures and the requirements for the POMCBIR3 course and thesis seminars (required readings, group presentation for the Consulate visit, paper for the thesis seminar, essay to be submitted after the Winter School).

Your accommodation has been booked and paid by the Saint-Petersburg State University. You will share the room with another student. Petrozavodsk and Tampere students will travel to St. Petersburg by train. Tampere University will book and pay the train tickets for Petrozavodsk students in January; Tampere students will book and pay the train tickets themselves, and later receive the FIRST scholarship for this purpose.
Tampere students need a visa in order to travel to St. Petersburg. For the visa you need an invitation from the St. Petersburg State University. CBIR students of the 2017 intake have received a message from St. Petersburg CBIR convener, please follow his instructions. Please note that it takes approx. one month to prepare the invitation and another month to get the visa after you have applied for it. For non-EU citizens it may take even longer to get the visa.
