Career Planning Workshop for international degree students start at September

On four Fridays: 7, 21 and 28 September and 5 October 2018 at 10.00–13.00

The workshops aim to prepare you for the job application process in Finland and teaches you how to communicate effectively about your knowledge and skills. The workshops are primarily offered for the international degree students of the University of Tampere who intend to stay in Finland after earning their degrees (Master’s degree or PhD). The workshops are also open for other students, especially those who are looking for an internship placement. The workshop is full and the application form is closed

The workshops are highly interactive and also designed to get to know yourself better. Participants are recommended to take part in all four sessions because they are all parts of a whole.

Part 1: Friday 7 September at 10.00 – 13.00 / Y-kampus

Part 2: Friday 21 September at 10.00 – 13.00 / Y-kampus
* The job application process in Finland. Where to find vacancies? *How to expand and use your network? *Make a job hunting plan

Part 3: Friday 28 September at 10.00 – 13.00 / Y-kampus
*Cover letter and resumé: how to communicate your skills and motivation effectively? * Bring your own application documents and get personal feedback!

Part 4: Friday 5 October at 10.00 – 13.00 / Y-kampus
* The interview: what to expect, do`s and don`t`s *Live simulations of the job interview, also with personal feedback! * Closing comments and questions

Applying and participants

The number of participants is limited to 15 students (in order of enrolment and situation).
Finnish students may also take part if there are fewer than 15 international participants.
The workshop is full and the application is closed -thank you for your attension!

THE teacher and information

Career Planning Workshops are held by Career coach Ms. Mariska Roelofs (MSc in psychology) and it is organized by Study Services of the University of Tampere.
