Marina Danoyan, first-year student from the Politics track, told us about her interesting professional background and her experiences of returning back to studies after nearly a decade of working in conflict mediation. Meet LFC student Khalil Mozaffari: “Leadership for Change is about the skill of seeing the connections and having a wide perspective”

We had an interesting chat with Khalil Mozaffari, a first-year LFC student. Khalil studies in the track of Sustainable Business Management and he is also a student in the double-degree programme Cross-Border International Relations, which is offered by the Faculty of Management (University of Tampere) in cooperation with Petrozavodsk and St. Petersburg State Universities in Russia. Besides discussing practical matters, Khalil encouraged to look deeper in ourselves when considering whether to apply to the Master’s Degree Programme in Leadership for Change: “This programme develops you and it makes you ask questions what kind of person you are and what kind of person you want to be, whether you are ready for the change. If the students are ready for the change in themselves, then the Master’s Degree Programme in Leadership for Change is the right choice for them”.

Meet LFC Student Gabriel Esber Elias: “We need to find new ways to live. We need to think in different terms, not just economics and politics”

On his insightful trip from Canada to Brazil, with no plane tickets involved, Gabriel Esber Elias realized he wanted to continue with his studies.

Having got Bachelor’s degree in Business and several years of work experience, Gabriel felt he wanted to do something new that could make an impact. He thus decided to head to Finland to learn more about questions related to social justice and welfare, which is when he found out about the track Governance for Sustainable Change in the Master’s Degree Programme in Leadership for Change. Now Gabriel’s goals are to learn as much as he can, both from theory and interaction with people, and apply the acquired knowledge in his home country Brazil. “Stop thinking and apply!”, Gabriel encourages all potential LFC students. Meet LFC Student Aline Mayr: “Today you can’t be an expert in one field – you need to have a basic knowledge of almost everything to really act professionally”

We met with Aline Mayr, a first-year student in the Master’s Degree Programme in Leadership for Change. Aline is originally from Germany, but it is not her first year in Tampere – during her Bachelor’s studies, Aline was an exchange student in the University of Tampere. Today, in addition to her LFC studies, Aline is busy in her role as an Event Coordinator at the ESN FINT, International Exchange Erasmus Student Network, which organizes interesting events for both international and Finnish students.
