Arvo library closed 16–27 July

Arvo library on Kauppi campus will be closed between 16 and 27 July as in the previous summers. Arvo’s Learning Center premises are available 24/7 for University of Tampere students with the key card. You can return your loans to the book-return bin beside the front door of Arvo. Linna library on the Main campus is open according to the summertime opening hours.

Renovation in Linna’s Silent Reading Room begins 25 June

The renovation in Linna library’s Silent Reading Room will begin on Monday, 25 June. During the renovation its premises will be out of customer use. The renovation is planned to be finished by the beginning of September.

The other working premises in Linna are available according to the summertime opening hours and the Learning Center in Arvo library is available 24/7 for the University students with the key card. In Arvo on weekdays between 21.00 and 5.30 and on weekends also a PIN code is needed. Ask it from Arvo building’s IT Helpdesk (E106).

On the Main campus the classrooms 1, 7 and 8 in TietoPinni are accessible 24/7. In addition, floors 3 and 4 in the front part of the Pinni A building are accessible 24/7 with the student card during the summertime renovations.

Silent Reading Room is a popular study space. Now e.g. its electricity systems and surfaces will be renovated. The larger studying area will get new furnishings and a carpet to improve the functionality and comfort of its premises.

The Library apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the renovation.

Linna and Arvo libraries’ premises in self-service use 15 August

On Wednesday, 15 August, the premises of Linna and Arvo libraries are available for the customers during the opening hours but the Customer Service is closed. You can borrow books and return your loans using the self-service machines and pay library fees online. Linna is open 8.00–16.00 and Arvo 8.00–17.00.

The reason for this exceptional self-service day is the staff training day of all Tampere3 libraries (UTA, TUT and TAMK).

Library closed on Midsummer 22-24 June

All University Library offices are closed from Midsummer Eve, Friday 22 June, to Sunday, 24 June. After Midsummer we’ll continue the service according to the same summertime opening hours. Only the customer service in Library’s newspaper collection will be closed until 7 August.

Linna’s Silent Reading Room closed from Midsummer until September

Linna library’s Silent Reading Room will be renovated and its premises will be out of customer use. The renovation begins after Midsummer and is planned to be finished by the beginning of September. After the renovation the reading room will also get new furnishings.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the renovation. The other working premises in Linna are available normally according to the summertime opening hours. The Learning Center in Arvo library is available 24/7 for the University students with the key card.

Summertime opening hours from 28 May

Tampere University Library will shift to summertime opening hours on Monday, 28 May. All library offices are closed on Saturdays and on Midsummer Eve, 22 June. Arvo library will be closed between 16 and 27 July.

Arvo library will return to normal opening hours 13 August and Linna library 27 August.

Ascension Day 9-10 May opening hours at the Library

Ascension Day also effects the opening hours of the Library.

  • On Wednesday 9 May, Ascension Eve, all library offices will be closing at 4 pm
  • On Thursday 10 May, Ascension Day, the Library is closed

On Thursday, 29 March, all Library offices will be closing at 16.00. The Library is closed from Friday, 30 March, to Monday, 2 April. On Tuesday after Easter we will shift back to normal opening hours.

Tampere University Library will shift to Christmas and New Year season opening hours on Saturday 16 December when Linna library is closed. Arvo library is closed between 22 December and 1 January. We will be back to normal opening hours from 8 January.
