Bill and Melinda Gates publish their 2015 annual letter on global health

” Announcing Our Big Bet For The Future

Fifteen years ago, the two of us made a bet that by backing innovation in health and education, we could help dramatically reduce inequity around the world. The progress we’ve seen so far is exciting—so exciting that we’re doubling down on our original bet and picking ambitious goals for what’s possible in the next 15 years.

We believe that by 2030, the lives of the world’s poorest will improve faster than at any other time in history. Major breakthroughs in health, farming, banking, and education, driven by innovations in cheaper, accessible technology will deliver the fundamentals of a healthy productive life.

We see an opportunity and we want to make the most of it. Visit gatesletter.com to learn about these breakthroughs, see how we can accelerate progress, and discover what simple things you can do to help make the world a more equitable place. Join us. “
